Use this guide with representative records and the people responsible for the work. It supports an evaluation discussion; product availability and implementation requirements are confirmed in the walkthrough.
Your evaluation checklist
- Identify the source and destination systems and their owners.
- List the business records and fields crossing the boundary.
- Confirm interface documentation, credentials ownership and test access.
- Agree validation, record identifiers and duplicate handling.
- Test incomplete data, provider timeouts and failed exchanges.
- Define retries, reconciliation and recovery ownership.
- Review logging, access, retention and release coordination.
- Agree migration, monitoring and operational acceptance.
Record the decision
For each requirement, note whether it is supported by existing capability, configuration, an integration or additional work. Keep the acceptance example and the person responsible for confirming it.
Bring the exceptions
A returned record or failed handover often reveals more than an ideal demonstration. Include those cases when agreeing scope, rollout and support.
