A review queue is useful only if its flags deserve attention. Exception triage could bring together agreed signals—such as inconsistent fields or unusual record patterns—and explain why an item has been prioritised.

A flagged record is not a finding of fraud. Reviewers need access to the source, a way to dismiss an incorrect flag and a clear route for further investigation. Decisions affecting customers or employees remain with authorised people.

Before a pilot, the team would define the signals and the number of cases it can examine. Evaluation should include missed exceptions as well as false alarms; a long list of alerts is not evidence of success.
